Job Mission
The EUV Source team in San Diego operates in a fast-paced, uniquely innovative, and challenging environment to deliver new-to-industry products supporting the commercialization of EUV technology by ASML. The Data Science/AI Engineer will be part of the EUV Source Performance team within ASML San Diego. Due to high complexity of the EUV light source, we, as Source Performance, are a dedicated team with the mission to validate and ensure that EUV sources meet or exceed customer performance requirements and expectations. The creation and delivery of analytic tooling, action plans and procedures to drive maximum solving power of our customer support organizations for sustaining products.
The Data Science/AI Engineer will be an individual contributor on a team responsible for extracting the highest business value possible from the data available. This person will also refine requirements towards the data engineering team to ensure a rich and complete dataset is available for consumption and may be required to execute some data engineering work themselves. This role is part of a team aiming to further develop the site’s data science and AI competence. The person in this role will be responsible for executing the data science and AI work needed to further advance ASML’s capability to learn quickly and advise product changes that benefit the overall performance of the EUV light source. These projects include physics based model development, machine learning, Gen-AI, reduced order models, and the development of digital twins representing the EUV source, its sub-components, and the factory.
The role requires a willingness to develop a deep understanding across multiple engineering disciplines beyond data science in order to be effective. To be successful, the candidate must combine strong technical skills, problem solving and numerical analysis skills, and desire for life-long learning. In addition, to be effective in the role, candidates must possess interpersonal skills to cross functional boundaries and to build constructive and effective relationships across the organization and promote cross-functional and cross-sector collaboration.

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
