Job Summary (General Responsibilities):

We are looking for experienced and talented data science and analytics lead to join Belkin’s e-commerce team, where you will act as a player coach, leading a small team to oversee Americas region eCommerce business reporting & analytics, in addition to testing structured and other available data sources to generate actionable insights and uncover new capabilities for the eCommerce business (Amazon/marketplaces, direct to consumer, and emerging channels - social).

You will bring a deep understanding of the Amazon and Direct to Consumer eCommerce ecosystem, exceptional analytical skills, a passion for identifying new opportunities that drive business growth, and experience with varying data sets across finance, operations, sales, marketing and CRM disciplines. Your role will cover the development of relevant models (e.g. marketing mix, product recommendations, promotional effectiveness, customer segmentation, LTV, churn) using a range of statistical modeling and machine learning techniques. You will lead the measurement and evaluation of our marketing efforts, with the goal of optimizing performance and investments, as well as varied test & learn efforts.

Your work will empower Belkin’s e-commerce team to adopt a continuous test-and-learn approach, ensuring resources and efforts are laser-focused on the highest value initiatives and leveraging data and technology to transform the eCommerce business.

Specific responsibilities include:

Data & Analytics Strategy

  • Leverage technology and data analytics to uncover insights and drive decision-making leveraging eCommerce channel data across sales, marketing, operations, and customer service
  • Establish KPIs and regular reporting across sales, marketing, operations, CRM and other areas of business to measure business effectiveness and drive improvements
  • Utilize advanced data analytics, including predictive modeling, statistical analysis, data mining, and machine learning, to drive decision-making and improve business strategies 
  • Communicate data-driven insights and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders, through data visualizations and dashboards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to implement and optimize channel-specific strategies based on findings.
  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using tools like Tableau and Power BI to track performance, communicate insights, and enable decision making
  • Collaborate with central teams on data collection, integration, validation, and storage efforts as needed
  • Develop forward-looking data strategies to create new competitive advantages and stay informed about advancements in data analytics, technologies, and industry best practices. 
  • Foster a data-driven culture across the business, leveraging data analytics for informed decision-making. 
  • Conduct research and create & maintain a plan to identify, test, iterate and scale innovative strategies and opportunities
  • Identify opportunities to increase process automation and integrate AI/ML into practice as relevant
  • Participate as a core player in the eCommerce commercial team, overseeing the eCommerce data & analytics agenda and contributing to strategic decision-making

Team Leadership

  • Lead the eCommerce data analysts’ team to drive the overall reporting & data analytics efforts for the eCommerce business, assign and guide projects for run-rate business and new efforts 
  • Provide guidance and coaching on analytics projects, provide regular and timely feedback, and support team learning & development agenda
  • Identify opportunities to improve agile performance; remove team-level roadblocks and resolve conflicts; anticipate challenges and risks and recommend mitigations and solutions.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) overseeing data analytics functions, preferably in the consumer products industry.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, computer science, statistics, or a related field. 
  • Experience designing and implementing data science models, with the ability to perform data extraction, data cleaning, statistical modeling and data visualization.
  • Strong skills in statistical methodologies such as A/B testing, experimental design, hypothesis testing and data mining.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL). 
  • Experience with channel specific tools & data sources – e.g, Amazon Vendor/Seller Central, Digital Shelf Solutions, Full Funnel Media/Amazon Ads, and Audience Marketing Cloud (AMC) data sets, in addition to Google Analytics, eCommerce Platforms (e.g, SFCC, Shopify), CRM Tools, and Social Listening/Analytics. 
  • Experience with big data platforms, cloud-based data analytics solutions, and data warehousing. 
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. 
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices related to data privacy and security
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving orientation 
  • Strong project management skills, attention to detail and a continuous learning mindset
  • 2-4 years of experience managing a small team and enjoy coaching and mentoring team members
  • Experience with common data science libraries in Python (NumPy, SciPy, SciKit-Learn etc.) a plus.

Factors such as geographic location, academic credentials, relevant experience, and specific knowledge, skills and abilities will influence the actual salary offered.
