Performs moderately complex professional activities managing a variety of Capital Improvement Projects (CIP). Work involves planning, reviewing project design, bidding, permitting, and supervising construction of unique projects to improve the city facilities and infrastructure. Manages several projects simultaneously in various phases of development including planning, consultant selection, design, selection of contractor, construction management, inspection, project close-out and warranty administration.
Work is performed independently under general supervision with moderate latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment. Position typically requires processing and interpreting of less clearly defined issues. Reports to the Capital Projects Manager or designee.

Bachelor's degree in construction management, structural or civil engineering, or related field; supplemented by three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in construction project management (scope development to project completion), including at least (2) years of managing simultaneous projects of varying complexity and administering contracts; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training and/or experience.
Required Certifications and Licenses
Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver License and the ability to drive a city owned vehicle per established policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
National Incident Management System (NIMS) training will be required (and sponsored) according to job duties and responsibilities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Four (4) years of experience managing, coordinating or designing and overseeing governmental Capital Improvement Projects (CIP), including skill in using commercial computer-aided design (CAD) and drafting software application.
