Job Title: Senior Project Manager, Data Governance & Reporting
Duty Days: 240
Pay Grade: A03
Primary Purpose
Manages and directs efforts related to the creation, implementation, maintenance and management of the District’s Data Governance and Reporting Projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience related to Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working directly in project management, PMP certification desirable
- Demonstrated competence in data governance, data management and administrative software and database systems support, management, setup, maintenance, interfacing to include SIS and other database systems.
- Expert level report writing and data integration skills in multiple languages
- Experience working with multiple entities and organizations to complete integration and reporting tasks.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Proven track record in all facets of project management.
- Solid understanding of data management principles, database technologies, data warehousing and data analytics.
- Ability to effectively lead a team of technically skilled employees in an educational setting.
- Senior-level working knowledge of MS SQL/Transact-SQL is preferred.
- Ability to develop and maintain systems documentation and end user manuals.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Customer centered and service oriented.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Lead the Data Governance Framework Project including the:
- Work with consultants, vendors and stakeholders on a strategy for a framework.
- Creation and implementation of policies, procedures, and standards for managing data assets.
- Definition of guidelines for collecting, storing, and sharing data.
- Ensuring compliance with data regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
- Mitigate Data Quality Issues:
- Collaborate with various departments to identify and address data quality issues.
- Manage the Implementation of data validation checks and cleaning processes within the data warehouse/lake.
- Define and Maintain Data Standards as part of the Data Warehouse/Lake Administration:
- Work with stakeholders to establish data definitions, business rules, and data lineage.
- Set data classification standards based on sensitivity and regulatory requirements.
- Enforce Data Retention Policies:
- Collaborate with Compliance and Monitoring team to develop policies and practices for digital records and data retention that align with records management rules, data standards and governance.
- Support the implementation of digital records retention policies at scale.
- Ensure Data Accuracy and Completeness within the Data Warehouse and Reporting Tools:
- Implement data quality controls for cross-functional data use and data warehouse/lake.
- Monitor data usage and conduct data audits.
- Responsible for the creation and implementation of training on Data Governance Best Practices
- Oversees data integration processes between various applications and coordinates with other departments to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Leads team in the development of complex reports with multiple data connections to various data source types, real-time and on-demand drilling and sub reports, parameters, and dynamic groupings
