We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager. This role will cover the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions and reports to the National Sales Manager. It is ideal if you live within the region you will be covering.

IPEX is seeking a motivated, ambitious, dynamic team player to fill the position of Business Development Manager. In this role, you'll be responsible for generating sales within the water utility sector by promoting and selling composite compression fittings for clean water distribution lines. This role involves extensive travel across 24 Eastern states, conducting face-to-face cold calls on water utility districts. You will be required to make planned calls and meetings, deliver formal presentations using a Demo Box, and use handheld tools for product demonstrations. .

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct face-to-face calls on water utility districts within the designated territory.
  • Make planned calls and meetings to present products and solutions.
  • Deliver formal presentations using a Demo Box designed to showcase the product system.
  • Use small handheld tools such as PEX cutters and pliers for product demonstrations.
  • Train and collaborate with manufacturer representatives covering 9 of the 24 states in making water utility calls.
  • Work closely with manufacturer representatives to call on utilities and distribution channels.
  • Secure written specifications at utilities following formal city specifications.
  • Coordinate with all partners to gather necessary documentation and facilitate the approval process effectively.
  • Attend monthly industry meetings for presentation opportunities.
  • Maintain a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system for every sales call.
  • Attend 3-4 regional trade shows annually to engage with customers and industry professionals.

Job requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is desired but not required.
  • Proficiency in using Dynamics 365 or Sales Force for efficient CRM management.
  • Completion of Franklin Covey training courses focusing on organizational skills, time management, and effective communication is preferred.
  • General construction knowledge or exposure is beneficial.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
